The AddMotoR M-81 is a great example of the latest advancements in electric cargo trikes and is the only electric cargo bike currently on the market. Its compact size makes it versatile for both urban and rural settings, features high-quality components, and includes safety features that are not found in many other electric models. The M-81 is available in a wide range of colors and has a frame size that will fit riders from a small stature to a large one. AddMotoR is offering a 1-year warranty on this ride, a 14-day return policy, and free shipping. All of these combined make for a great purchase opportunity.

Tucked behind the rear wheel is a 750-watt hub motor from AddMotoR that offers plenty of torque to help you climb steep hills and provide plenty of power when you need it. There are not any specifications available for the M-81 engine and all of the details that I am aware of come from what I can see. That is because AddMotoR custom wound this motor with higher torque and less top speed to give it a more powerful feel. The M-81 motor reaches a peak speed of 20 mph, which is lower than most electric bikes on the market. It makes sense given the M-81 is a cargo bike with a 350-pound capacity and aims to be better at dealing with heavy loads.

The other benefit of having a maximum speed of 20 mph is that it classifies the M-81 as an electric bike that falls into the category of a Class 2 vehicle. This means it is perfectly legal to ride in most areas. With the M-81, we’ll probably want a big battery to power the electric bike and its many features. But, with a couple of passenger seats and some high-quality saddlebags, it might need to be even bigger. AddMotoR was able to come through with the M-81 which had a massive 48volt, 20amp hour locking, and removable battery.

With the battery positioned right in the center of the M-81, this ride is well balanced and keeps riders safe, as it was specifically designed with them in mind. When this e-bike is loaded to the gills and tackled steep climbs, we can easily expect a range of approximately 40 miles, which is half of the 80-mile range that this battery offers in perfect conditions. I am a huge fan of the M-81 frame and I think this is what makes it so unique. This bike is about 75 inches in length, which is about a foot shorter than the average cargo bike. However, don’t let the length fool you- it has short 20-inch by 4-inch tires that give it an incredibly low standing clearance of just 12 inches. That is pretty great. It makes the M-81 a great choice for delivery or any other use that will require the rider to dismount many times a day.

The rear rack is an essential part of any custom bike, and I really appreciate that the designers made the wise decision to weld it directly to the frame. This is unquestionably the most secure way to mount a rear rack. It’s exactly what you would want to see on an electric cargo bike. There are also bosses on the head tube of your bike that allow you to drill directly into it, which is an ideal location for a front basket because your weight will be well balanced when you are making turns.

The rear of the M-81 has a derailleur with a Shimano Altus derailleur 7-speed cassette and a thumb Shift that you can change quickly and easily. It is a very pleasant surprise to see that this bike has an upgraded component set from the entry-level Tourney. I would be delighted if we had the option of upgrading to trigger shifters for those who prefer them. Now, when it comes to stopping power, the M-81 shines. With the AddMotoR Hydraulic Disc Brakes, riders will be able to stop the bike in any type of terrain. The brakes come with 180 mm rotors on both the front and rear wheels. These brakes may feel a bit too powerful for the average rider, but it is important to note that the M-81 has a 350-pound carrying capacity.

Not only do these brakes have a motor inhibitor to instantly cut power to the motor when you hit the brakes, but they also come equipped with a hydraulic brake booster, which improves the feeling of pedal modulation and reduces brake fade. At the front of the bike, you will find a large spring suspension with a travel distance of around 100mm which is great for taking on any bumps and obstacles in the road that may be in your path. These forks also come equipped with preload adjustment and lockout, so you can make some adjustments if necessary. Now you can fine-tune your riding posture by adjusting the angle of the handlebars to find the perfect position that is most comfortable and efficient for you. Whether you want a more aggressive or relaxed posture, you can set your stem height to match your personal preferences. If you set them low, you’ll get an aggressive stance for making the most of your pedal stroke. If you raise them up, you’ll be more upright and relaxed for cruising around.

The M-81 has everything you need when it comes to electronics. The integrated tail light and light are surprisingly bright, as well as the integrated headlight. Wait, there is more! One of the more exciting features of the M-81 is that it comes with a turn signal and horn. While these are great features, they could be a lot easier to see during the day if they were much brighter. The display, on the other hand, is very visible in direct sunlight. The screen is polarized, which prevents glare from the outside world and cuts down on it considerably. However, if you are wearing polarized sunglasses addition to this, the screen may appear completely black. The bike’s handlebars contain two key items – the Independent button pad, which controls the display and turns signals, and the thumb shifter with a half grip twist throttle on the right side.

When looking for an electric cargo bike, you might want to consider the AddMotoR M-81. It has all the features you need and they come in a more compact frame that is great if you’re looking for a more agile bike. The M-81 also has plenty of power and range that will satisfy all your commuting needs, and with optional accessories such as a rear rack and front basket, the options are pretty much limitless.
