I love my bike so much that it is hard to think of anything I do not like about it. My bike has helped me explore the city, stay in shape, and keep up with my friends. The Addmotor M-430 may look like a fun cruiser for a leisurely day, but it also has some serious performance to it that is able to keep up with the more powerful electric scooters. Once you have unlocked the top speed, from the 20 mph (32 km/h) out-of-the-box setting, you can boost it up to a much more fun 25 mph (40 km/h). This bike really starts to fly when you put your throttle or pedal assist on at that speed. At 750W of power, the acceleration feels vigorous.
What surprised me the most though was that the M-430 turned out to be more agile than expected, likely due to its slightly smaller 24-inch wheel diameter. Cruisers’ bikes generally have a relaxed geometry that is more suited to longer rides, meaning they can feel sluggish at times and are not ideal for those who require a bike with responsive handling. They are known for their comfortable ride and often come equipped with features like a spring saddle, roomy frame, or balloon tires.
The M-437 on the other hand did better than I anticipated on the trails and grassy fields. I had feared that it would handle these conditions poorly, but it did not and was much better than I had expected. The bike seemed to like the higher pressure I put on the tires, so I pumped these up a bit further than I usually do. The tires were smoother on the road, the handling felt tighter, and I was able to get better traction in corners. I was expecting a bit more from the ride since it was not really plush, but the 80mm front suspension fork made up for it by giving me better ride quality, and better handling. In addition, this added stability helped create an even better light-trail experience and improved asphalt performance. Overall, I found the M-430 to be an excellent machine for sand riding. While the elevated pressure may not have been quite as ideal for some of my sand-related horseplay, it did still perform extraordinarily well in this environment. The pattern of the tires is very aggressive and they are a good match for racing on any surface that is dry or wet.
The bike has an impressive battery that is loaded with 768 Wh of capacity which is well above the average for this type of bicycle. You won’t get the 65 miles of range that the company claims, but you will still be able to go much farther than the common 500 Wh of range that is found on most bikes. One of the great features that I love about the M-430 is the rear rack. This is a well-built rack that comes standard with this package and is designed to carry very high loads. This bike even has a mounting point for a front basket or cargo rack so you can add some extra storage. You’d need to buy that as an additional accessory, but once installed this could turn into a nearly fully functional cargo e-bike. When I think back on my bike ride, the other interesting thing that comes to mind is how the step-through frame is not actually as step-through as it first appears. The standard frame is actually just a little bit higher off the ground than a step-through frame. It does not go as low as the step-through frames which are the most common types of frames.
Once you get on board though, you’ll have a comfortable and relaxed ride. The seat is designed for city commuting and the bars are only slightly curved back, granting an excellent reach to the handlebars which is perfect for those who don’t have much experience cycling on the road. The wide range of color options is a nice touch and I’ve personally tested the pretty Rose Gold option. There are also other great colors such as Cyprus Green, Pearl White, Estate Blue, Cyan, and Black. You can never get enough adjectives.
This isn’t the cheapest option available on the market, but I don’t think it’s too expensive either. It might be surprising to discover that the mechanical disc brakes were upgraded to hydraulic brakes at this price, but it is still a notable step up from other models with a big battery and increased top speeds. At least we get a seven-speed transmission with this model.
This M-430 model is an ultra-comfortable electric cruiser with a range that is perfect for making long trips and with plenty of power to spare. If you are on the lookout for a comfortable electric cruiser, this is one model that should absolutely be on your list.
